I can’t find the more brushes tab which leads to the charcoal brushes but I can open the size tab that lets you change shapes but I don’t have a more button to add new brushes.

Hey, the new pixlr no longer gives the same option to start with a transparent layer- could anyone explain how I can create one? I’ve tried searching tutorials and haven’t found an answer.

Hi Robert,

When you are first creating your art-board there is a toggle setting to the right for “background” if you leave it off your will have a transparent background.

Do you know where I can find the charcoal option on the brush, because I can’t find it anywhere? Thanks.

Hey I’m looking for the more brushes option but I don’t have the ability to look at more brushes. It just gives me to option to mess with the softness, and shape of the brush.

Hi JasAgu,

Pixlr.com has updated and you need just be sure you are at pixlr.com/e/ this canvas allows you to change to different brushes. Pixlr.com has more then one canvas type. one for editing videos (x) and one for more creative drawing and editing (e).

Hey, absolutely loving the tutorials. Super helpful. One question, why use the accelerate behavior for movement here and the move behavior in mini agent?

Hi, I am working on a project and trying to set up the movement as it is in the tutorial for left, right & jump. However when I test this I have to repeatedly tap the key to continue movement + the character will not jump. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks

For the last section, I found it’s not necesary to have the “Display Text” actor use the “Spawn Actor” rule in order to create the door. You can simply uncheck the “Visible” tag for the “Door” actor and give it the following rule: If “(Game.Door Visible?) is [Yes]” Do “Change Attribute (self.graphics.visible) to [1]” Do “Rule” If “Collision with [Hero]” Do “Change Scene: Next Scene” That way, the door is not visible nor can you interact with it until you’ve collected the hint. Which removes the need to place the actor down, remember the coordinates, type it into the Spawn… Read more »

Hi. I was building a project using the tutorial privided and I got to one small bump that needs some guidance . So on the jumping function/movement is you keep the key pressed or you keep pressing the specific key the character will still go on the Y axes or you can double or triple jump to infinite . Is there and constrain attribute for this ? If the is such think can you please give us a hint to solve this problem .
Thank you .

Hi Bogdan!

Not to worry. You can find the solution to this problem by going over the MAC version of this video and jump to minute 3:35 in the video where the instructor goes over this exact issue. :)

I apologize that this was left out of the Windows version.

Please let me know if you were able to fix your infinite jumping issue.

Best,
Jennifer

I also have a problem. I went to the Mac version of the video (as you suggested to BogdanNit) and did what the instrucor said, but, when I hold “Spacebar” and press “Right/Left”, my character keeps moving in that direction, even when I let go of the direction key (while still holding space). How can I fix this?

Thank you!

Greets…I have an issue with transitioning from my start screen. I have two animations on an actor(start button), one for the flashing button and an ‘after released’ animation. The problem is, i can’t get ‘change to next scene’ to work properly from there. When the change behavior is on, it seems to run the animations while showing a blank screen then changes to the next scene i have set up. When it’s off everything plays through properly.

Also, do you guys maybe have a flow-chart i can reference for behaviors in gamesalad?

thanks

Hi! I want to first apologize for our delay! Also, here is a list right from GameSalad that you may reference for details on behaviors. http://help.gamesalad.com/gamesalad-cookbook/1-getting-started/1-07-behaviors-in-gamesalad/ Because this seems like something specific to your code I would like to ask that you email us directly at [email protected] Please send us your GameSalad Project file and a quick screen recording of the issue. I will have the instructor contact you with in 24hrs after receiving your email. There are many ways to record your voice and computer screen, but we highly recommend a free tool called Jing. You can download Jing… Read more »
